Smart Suggestions is a tab in AI Studio that turns your editing patterns into reusable settings. As you correct and refine generated notes, the AI watches how you edit and proactively proposes settings — such as personal dictionary entries and dot phrases — that you can review and approve to apply to future scribes. Its tagline says it best: Suggestions to streamline your future notes based on your edits.

Accessing Smart Suggestions

Click AI Studio in the top navigation bar, then select Smart Suggestions from the left sidebar. The sidebar lists Custom Formatting, Personal Dictionary, Dot Phrases, and Smart Suggestions. The Smart Suggestions page opens with a list of AI-generated suggestions derived from your own past edits.
Smart Suggestions is enabled per organization via feature flag. If you do not see it in the AI Studio sidebar, contact your Commure representative to enable it.

How It Works

Each time you edit a generated note, the AI captures that change as implicit feedback. When it detects a consistent pattern — for example, you repeatedly replace one term with another — it drafts a reusable setting and adds it to your Smart Suggestions list. Each suggestion is a proposal, not an automatic change. Nothing is applied until you review and approve it, so you stay in control of what the AI learns from your editing habits.

Reviewing and Approving Suggestions

Each suggestion appears as a row in the list with:
  • A small category label indicating the type of setting being proposed (for example, Add to personal dictionary or Add to dot phrases).
  • The suggestion sentence, with the key terms in bold, describing exactly what will change.
  • An Approve button to apply the setting, and a > chevron to expand the row for more detail.

Review the suggestion

Read the suggestion sentence to see what setting the AI is proposing and which terms it affects. Click the > chevron to expand the row for additional detail.

Approve to apply

Click Approve to apply the setting to your future scribes. Once applied, the Approve button is replaced by a status line showing when you made the change — for example, You updated this setting on Apr 29th.

Suggestion Types

Smart Suggestions proposes settings based on the kinds of edits you make. The confirmed suggestion types are:

Approving a suggestion creates the corresponding entry in Personal Dictionary or Dot Phrases — the same settings you can also create manually in those tabs.
Approved suggestions apply to future notes only. Existing notes are not changed when you approve a suggestion.

Smart Suggestions vs. Explicit Settings

Smart Suggestions sits inside AI Studio alongside Custom Formatting, Personal Dictionary, and Dot Phrases. Where those tabs let you create settings explicitly, Smart Suggestions infers candidate settings from your actual editing patterns and lets you approve them with a single click — so you do not have to remember to add a dictionary correction or dot phrase yourself.
