Patient Details at a Glance
The Patient Details main screen displays a list of basic information for the selected patient.- The patient heading row shows the selected patient’s name, age, gender, location, code status, and MRN. Use this information to verify that this is the right patient.

The visit row shows the following information for the current active visit (the one that you selected on the Patient List prior to accessing the Patient Details module):
- The admission date/time for visits that have admit and discharge dates (such as inpatient visits), or an appointment date/time for visits with a scheduled date (such as outpatient visits).
- The location of the visit (which is struck through if the visit is discharged).
- The attending provider for visits that have admit and discharge dates (such as inpatient visits), or the scheduled provider for visits with a scheduled date (such as outpatient visits).
- An abbreviation that identifies the type of visit (such as IP for Inpatient or OP for outpatient).

The Selected Visit area displays a combination of demographic and visit information. The information that is available depends on the fields selected by your system administrator.
- Patient demographic information, such as name, gender, date of birth, and age.
- Information about patient’s currently selected visit, such as admit/appointment date, location, reason for the visit, admitting physician, attending physician, financial class, financial number, and insurance company. These are the only fields related to financial information; detailed insurance information is not available on handheld devices. From the Patient Details module you can:
- View the patient’s demographic information (see Viewing Patient Demographic Information)
- Edit the patient’s demographic information (see Editing Patient Information)
- View a list of all of the patient’s visits, as well as the details of any of those visits (see Viewing Visit Information)
- Edit the information for a particular visit (see Editing Visit Information)
- Manually create a new visit for the patient (see Manually Creating a New Visit)
- Communicate with a patient’s care team (see Communicating with a Patient’s Care Team in Patient Details)
Viewing Patient Demographic Information
The main screen of the Patient Details module displays the available patient information, such as name, gender, date of birth, or address. The data that is available on this screen depends on the fields selected by your system administrator.Viewing Visit Information
The main screen of the Patient Details module displays information about the patient’s currently selected visit (the one that you selected on the Patient List prior to accessing the Patient Details module). If you want to see a list of the patient’s other visits, or if you want to see the details of any of those visits, you can easily do so.- From the Patient Details module, tap Expand located on the right side of the active visit. The Visits screen displays a list of all of the patient’s visits. The Active Visits section displays the currently selected visit and the Other Visits section display any other visits. If a visit is on the current patient list, it shows the Patients icon:
- To switch visits, select a visit from the Other Visits section. The Patient Details screen is redisplayed with the newly selected visit listed at the top of the screen.
Communicating with a Patient
In some cases, patient care team data is available in an external system, and it may be configured to display in Commure Pro for Commure Pro Messaging users. If care team data is available for a patient’s current visit, a Dynamic Care Team button is available on the screen (available for InFacility visit types only). To send a message to a care team member:- Tap the Dynamic Care Team button to display the list of providers for that patient.
