The Provider Directory module is a list of colleagues and their contact information. You can look up providers in the directory, and then tap their number to call them from your smartphone.

Provider Directory at a Glance

The Provider Directory is a quick way to look up contact information for your colleagues. The provider list includes providers who are associated with your organization. Other providers in your geographic area can also be listed in the directory, depending on how the list is set up at the institution. The directory usually includes phone numbers (home, office, service, pager, or mobile). Other information can be included like specialties, departments, addresses, and e-mail addresses. If your handheld device is a smartphone, you can dial a provider’s number or start an e-mail directly from this screen.

Looking Up Provider Information

You can look up a provider from any module or from the Patient List.
  1. Tap Providers, located in the bottom toolbar. The Provider Directory screen is displayed.
  2. Type part or all of the provider’s last name in the text field and then select Search. A list of all matching providers is displayed.
  3. Select a provider name. The Provider page for that person is displayed, showing information such as name, address, e-mail, and phone numbers.
  4. (Optional) Select a phone number to dial the provider’s number, or select an e-mail address to send an e-mail to the provider. To return to the Provider Directory screen page, tap Back . While on the Provider Directory screen, you can swipe down to close the virtual keyboard and access the navigation buttons in the bottom toolbar.
