How It Works
Each section of a note template includes a Learned Format area. When you add examples of how you want that section written, the AI uses those examples to shape how it generates content for that section in future notes. The AI uses the most recent examples to determine your preferred style — so as your preferences evolve, simply add new examples and remove older ones.Adding an Example
Select a template and section
Choose the note template, then scroll to the section you want to customize.
Add an example
Scroll to the Learned format area within the section and tap + Add an example. Paste or type a sample of how you want the section written.
Managing Examples
You can add up to 5 examples per section. To review or remove existing examples, tap Manage in the Learned Format area.Learned Format works best when your examples are consistent with each other. Conflicting examples may produce inconsistent results.
When to Use Learned Format vs. Custom Rules
| Approach | Best For |
|---|---|
| Learned Format | Matching a specific writing voice, sentence structure, or documentation pattern that is hard to describe as a rule |
| Custom Formatting Rules | Explicit instructions like “use bullet points” or “always include the general exam” |
Next Steps
Custom Formatting
Set per-template rules for tone, structure, and section formatting.
Macros
