Once a note has been generated, it appears in the Inbox tab. From here you can review the note and submit it to the EHR. The Inbox contains AI-generated ambient notes as well as other note types available to your organization.

Accessing Your Notes

Tap the Inbox tab in the bottom navigation bar. The Notifications screen shows two categories:
  • Inbox — completed notes ready for review and submission
  • Unfinished Notes — recordings that were not completed
Tap Inbox to see your generated notes. Each note appears as a draft note showing the patient name, template type, visit details, and specialty.

Reviewing a Note

When you open a note from the Inbox, the draft note displays:
  • Note sections — the generated note organized by the sections defined in your selected template
  • Per-section tools — copy, text formatting, and font controls for each section
At the bottom of the note:
  • Save Draft — save your edits without submitting
  • Cancel — discard changes
  • Submit — finalize and send the note to the EHR

CPT and ICD-10 Code Generation

The system can generate medical billing and diagnostic codes from your ambient note.
Autonomous coding is available on a per-organization basis. Contact your Commure representative to request this feature for your site.

Note Statuses

Each note moves through a series of statuses as it is recorded, processed, and synced:
StatusMeaning
Requires UploadAudio/data is waiting to upload; shows percentage progress
Note GeneratingAudio uploaded successfully; AI is generating the note
Note ReadyNote is ready for your review and editing
Pending EHR SyncNote has been uploaded and is waiting to sync to the EHR
In EHRNote has been synced to the EHR
SignedNote has been signed in the EHR

Viewing Pending Notes

The Pendings tab lets you monitor notes that are still processing. Under Pending Upload, two sub-categories show notes by sync status:
  • Pending EHR Sync — notes that have been uploaded and are waiting to sync to the EHR
  • In EHR — notes that have been successfully synced
Tap a sub-category to see the list of matching notes with patient name, template, and status details.

Viewing Notes from the Patient Chart

In addition to the Inbox tab, you can access AI-generated notes directly from the patient’s chart:
  1. Open a patient from the Patient List.
  2. Tap Clinical Notes on the patient detail screen.
  3. The Clinical Notes list shows all notes for that patient — including AI-generated notes that have been synced to the EHR. Each entry shows the note type, author, date, and status (e.g., “Final”).
  4. Tap a note to open it. AI-generated notes display the full note content and include a Rate this Note link at the bottom — see Leaving Feedback for details.
The Clinical Notes view shows notes that have already been submitted to the EHR. To review notes that are still pending submission, use the Inbox tab instead.

Managing Unfinished Notes

The Unfinished Notes section under the Inbox tab contains recordings that were not completed. You can manage these notes with the following actions:

Deleting Unfinished Notes

Swipe left on an unfinished note in the Pending tab and tap Delete to remove it. This deletes all associated files (note and audio) from local storage. Use this to clear outdated or unwanted drafts.

Reassigning a Note to a Different Patient

If a recording was made for the incorrect patient, you can reassign the audio to the correct patient:
  1. Navigate to Unfinished Notes in the Pending tab
  2. Swipe left on the note and tap Reassign
  3. Select the correct patient from the Patient List
  4. Confirm the reassignment

Force Uploading Pending Audio

If scribe audio files are pending upload, a manual upload option appears on the Patient List screen. Tap the upload button to force the upload immediately. The button is inactive while an upload is already in progress and hides once the upload completes.
