Test Results at a Glance
The Test Results module displays the selected patient’s recent test results in an easy-to-scan Summary list.- The module heading row displays the number of Test Results for the patient, such as “Test Results (9 of 9).” When you apply a filter, this line is updated. For example, if only two Test Results match the filter, the message is updated to “Test Results (2 of 9)”.
- The patient heading row shows the selected patient’s name, age, gender, location, code status, and an additional identifier such as DOB, MRN, or account/visit number. An asterisk after the code status indicates that there are additional comments. You can tap on this heading to go directly to the Patient Details module, where you can view the code status comments, as well as other details for the patient.
- Each Test Result is displayed on a separate line that shows the Test name, the Date and Time of the test, and the Status (such as Final, Pending, or Preliminary; your institution might use different status names). It may also show the Source of the test result information (the hospital or practice from which it was derived).
- An Elink icon is displayed next to any test result that has an image associated with it, such as might be the case for EKGs, echocardiograms, or CT scans. Tap the icon to view the image. The icon is present only if your organization has implemented the optional Mobile Imaging feature. See Viewing Images Associated with Test Results.

- To see the full textual report for a particular test, tap the name of the test. The Test Results Details are displayed. See Viewing Test Result Details.
Sorting the List of Test Results
You can sort the Test Results Summary list by Date/Time, Test name, or Status.- From the Test Results Summary list, tap More and choose Sort. The Sort screen is displayed.
-
In the Sort By section, select the item by which you want to sort:
- Date/Time sorts by date and time (most recent test results at the top of the list, or oldest at the top).
- Test sorts alphabetically by test name (A-Z or Z-A).
- Select Ascending or Descending to specify the sort direction.
- Select OK.
Filtering Test Results
You can use a filter to limit the number of test results that are displayed on the Summary list. For example, you might filter the list to see only one type of test, such as Radiology test results. The module header row keeps track of the number of test results currently displayed for the patient. For example, when no filter is applied, you might see “Test Results (9 of 9)” in the header, and all of the available tests displayed in the summary list. If a filter is applied, the Filter button is displayed at the top of the summary list, with a label describing the filter criteria. For example, you might see “Test Results (2 of 9)” in the module header, and the Filter button labeled, “Filtered by: Radiology” to indicate that only the Radiology tests are shown. If you apply more than one filter, the module header counts the combined number, and the Filter button label lists each of the filters that are applied. To apply a filter for Test Results, follow these steps:- Tap Filter in the upper right corner of the Test Results Summary screen.

- Select or deselect one or more filters. If some but not all of the filters are selected, a Select All button is available at the bottom of the screen; tap Select All to select all of the available filters. If all of the filters are selected, a Deselect All button is available; tap Deselect All to deselect of the filters.
- Tap Done. The test results that match the filter criteria are displayed. If you selected more than one filter, the filters are ORed. For example, if you selected both the Cardiac and Radiology filters, then any test results that are of the type Cardiac or Radiology are displayed.
To go back to showing all of the test results for the patient
- From the Test Results Summary list, tap Filter in the top-right corner of the screen.

- At the bottom of the Filters screen, tap Select All, and then tap Done. All of the available test results are displayed in the Test Results Summary list.
Viewing Test Result Details
The Summary list displays a high-level status report of recent test results, with each test summarized on a separate line. This might be all you need when you are evaluating a patient’s test results. By scanning the list, you can avoid ordering duplicate tests. For any given test result listed on the Summary, there is either a textual report or a scanned PDF to view. The instructions for viewing both types of results are listed below. In addition, a test result might also have images associated with it. See Viewing Images Associated with Test Results for more information. To review the full textual report for a test result, tap a test to select it. The Details screen opens and displays the report for that test result. Use the swipe gesture to scroll up and down the page. From the Details screen you can:- Move to the Details screen for the next test result in the patient’s Summary list. Swipe left or right to move to the next allergy in that direction; however, when viewing a result in Fixed Font swipe gestures are disabled.
- Go back to the Summary list and select a different test result. Select the Back button at the top of your screen. When you review a report, like a Micro Blood Culture, preserving the column formatting is important so that the columns of data line up correctly. Commure Pro automatically uses a fixed-width font when there are tables of data. If the report is just text, a variable-width font is used. Although in most cases you do not need to switch between the two, you can switch if necessary (see Using Fixed Font for Textual Test Results).
Using Fixed Font for Textual Test Results
When viewing a textual report on the Test Results Detail screen, the application automatically uses a variable-width font for regular text, and a fixed-width font when there are tables of data. Fixed-width font uses mono-spacing to make the columns in tables line up correctly. You can switch between the two fonts at any time. To turn Fixed Font on or off, follow these steps:- From the Test Results Summary list, select the test you want to review.
- From the Test Results Details screen, tap More and choose Fixed Font. The result text changes to use the fixed font format. To turn off Fixed Font, choose Normal Font from the menu.
Viewing Images Associated with Test Results
If your organization has implemented the optional Mobile Imaging feature, you can view the images associated with certain tests such as EKGs, echocardiograms, or radiologic tests. When implemented, the Test Results Summary screen displays an Elink icon in the row for any report that has an image associated with it.
- From the Test Results Summary, select the Elink icon for the test result whose image(s) you want to view.

- Manipulate the images as desired.
- When you are done viewing the images, tap the Back button to go back to the Test Results Summary.
