Taking a New Photo for an Existing Patient
At any time you can take a new photo and associate it with an existing patient. For example, you might take a photo of a patient’s face to use as identification, or of a handwritten note to use as a memory aid when entering charges or notes at a later time. Or in another example you might take a photo of a wound, a rash, or other medical issue to accompany a note, a charge, or consult request. To take a new photo for an existing patient, follow these steps:- From the Photos module, tap Add , located in the top right corner of the Summary screen. The camera opens.
- Take a photograph. You can tap Delete to delete the image and then re-shoot the photo as many times as necessary until you have the desired image.
- Once you have the image you want, tap the Checkmark button.
- Tap into the Title field and enter a title for the photo (up to 100 alphanumeric characters), or leave the field blank. If you enter a title, that title will be shown on the Summary screen of the Photos module as the title of the photo. If you leave the field blank, the date/time the photo was taken will be used as the title instead, in the format of YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.
- Tap SAVE to accept the photo. The photo is then stored with the patient and immediately submitted to the server so that it can be viewed on the Commure Pro web application or a mobile device as part of the patient’s record, by any user with permission to view it. Please note that the photo will not be available on the device’s camera roll.
Deleting a Photo
If you find that a photo is incorrect for a patient, or that it is no longer needed, you can delete it from the patient’s list of photos. You can delete the photo directly from the Photos Summary screen, or from the Details screen. Instructions for both are below. The ability to delete photos is available only if enabled in your user profile. When you delete a photo, it is permanently removed from the patient’s record. Please note that it is deleted even if it was associated with a charge transaction. To delete a photo from the Summary screen:- On the Photos Summary screen, review the patient’s photos and identify the photo that you want to delete.
-
Tap and hold on the photo to select it. When the Delete button appears at the top of the Photos Summary screen, tap it.
If the Delete button is not available, it means that you do not have permission to delete it.
- When prompted to confirm the deletion, select MOVE TO TRASH. The photo is deleted from the patient’s record.
To delete a photo from the Details screen
- On the Photos Summary screen, review the patient’s photos and identify the photo that you want to delete.
- Tap the photo to open the Details screen.
-
Review the image to be sure you want to delete it, and if so, tap Delete at the top of the screen.
If the Delete button is not available, it means that you do not have permission to delete it.
- When prompted to confirm the deletion, select MOVE TO TRASH. The photo is deleted from the patient’s record.
