The Photos module lists the available photos for the selected patient. The Photos module may be available on your Android™ device, if your organization has implemented this feature, and if you have been granted access to it. The photos that can view in this module (all photos, just those taken by users in the same department or facility as you, or only your own photos) are determined by your system administrator. This list of photos in the Photos module may include:
  • Photos taken to register a new patient (referred to as photo registration, or Photo Reg)
  • Photos taken of or about an existing patient
  • Photos taken so that they can be associated with a charge transaction as supporting documentation for the charge (photos can only be associated with a charge on the web or Apple® platforms)
  • Photos of handwritten notes that a physician wants to capture quickly
  • Other useful items associated with a patient All photos are taken on either an Android or Apple device and then associated with a patient record.

Photos At A Glance

The Photos module opens with information about the selected patient’s current photos listed in an easy-to-scan Summary.
  • The patient heading row shows the selected patient’s name, age, gender, MRN, and location. Use this information to verify that this is the right patient.
  • An Add button is displayed in the bottom right corner if you have permission to add new photos. See Taking Patient Photos.
  • A Search field is available below the patient heading; use it to search for a specific photo by its name. See Searching for a Photo.
  • Each photo is then summarized on a separate line with a thumbnail image of the photo, the Title of the photo, followed by the Created date and time (the date and time the photo was taken), and the User who took the photo. The list of photos is sorted in reverse chronological order by the date and time the photo was taken. You cannot change the sort order.
  • From the Summary list, you can:

Searching for a Photo

If a patient has a lot of photos on their Summary list, and there is one in particular that you want to view, you can search for it by name.
  1. On the Photos Summary list, tap into the Search field at the top of the list (below the patient name).
  2. Type any phrase into the Search field, and then select the Search key on the virtual keyboard. For example, you might type “rash” or “registration.” Only those photos that contain that phrase in their Title are shown.
To go back to showing all of the photos for the patient:
  • Clear the Search field by tapping the X on the right side of the field. All of the patient’s photos are shown again.
