You can easily add any of these items to your Favorites list at any time. Once you do so, you can then quickly select those items from your Favorites list when entering charges or clinical notes for patients. In both of the cases above, the Favorite button now changes to gold and the item is added to the top of your Favorites list, above any Favorites subcategories that you might have created (on the web application).
If a code is already on your favorites list, you will see a gold Favorite button on the row or in the top banner, instead of a gray one. You can tap this button to remove the code from your Favorites list.

Pinning a Charge or Diagnosis Subcategory Open
When the Add Charge or the Add Diagnosis screen first opens, the top level of the charge or diagnosis Favorites category is opened by default (with all of the subcategories below it closed), so that you can quickly select items from the top of that list. However, if you prefer that a specific Favorites or Department subcategory be opened by default instead, you can pin that one subcategory open. Note that if you pin open a subcategory, then the top level category to which it belongs (top level Favorites or top level Department) is opened by default as well. You can still manually open or close the top level Favorites or Department categories, or any of their subcategories, to view their contents, but the selected subcategory is always open when you first access either of these screens. You may also deselect the “pinned open” subcategory, or select a different subcategory to pin open, at any time. To perform any of these actions, first open the Add Charge or Add Diagnosis screen:- Start the process for entering a charge transaction or clinical note and then take either of the actions below:

- Identify the new Favorites or Department subcategory that you want to keep open and repeat Step 2 above, using any of the methods listed there to select a new subcategory to pin open. The newly selected subcategory will simply replace the old one as the subcategory that is pinned open (you do not have to “clear” the prior subcategory in order to select a new one).
To clear the Favorites or Department subcategory that is kept open, so that the top level Favorites category is instead opened by default
