Getting Around the Commure Pro Application

The Commure Pro application consists of a series of integrated modules that work together to give you a complete picture of every patient. Your organization may have purchased some or all of these modules. Although there are no set rules regarding how the modules can be combined, there are several different combinations of modules that are frequently purchased together as a set, and these combinations are often referred to as a single application, using the names “Mobile Charge Capture,” “Mobile Clinical Results” or “Mobile CPOE.” These common combinations are illustrated in the table below. All of the modules below are documented in this help system. However, keep in mind that only some of the modules may be available to you, depending on which ones your organization has purchased. Each clinical module has its own icon, which you’ll see on the Home screen and throughout the app:

Navigating the Commure Pro Application

All navigation starts at the Patient List. Tap a patient name to select it, and a list of all the clinical modules is displayed automatically. Select a clinical module to see that information for the patient.

Home Screen and Bottom Tab Bar

The application opens straight to the Patient List, and the dashboard appears as the detail screen for the patient you select. A bottom tab bar runs across the application — including the Provider and AI Studio tabs — so moving between areas takes one tap. It steps aside only for full-screen surfaces such as web views. Help, Sync, and Exit are in the Settings tab rather than in overflow menus across the application.

• The Patient List rises to use the headroom above it.
• Pending rows are shorter, and an arrow marks each row as tappable.

• Tapping the patient icon, or a tab you are already viewing, returns you to the root of that tab — tap Patients from inside Clinical Notes and you land on the Patient List.
• The tab bar hides while the keyboard is open, and it does not appear for users who do not have messaging. The Messaging and AI Studio labels stay readable in portrait and on narrow screens.

Commure Pro Android 2026.3.2 refines the same layout:

• The bottom tab bar floats above the screen content, and tab content extends underneath it.
• On the Patient List, you add a patient from a button in the top right rather than from a plus floating action button.
• On the Notes list, the floating action button floats over the scroll view.

This layout matches the iOS application, so clinicians moving between the two work the same way in both. Use these controls to navigate and select: The More menu button is module-specific. The menu options change depending on where you are. So when you’re looking at Lab Results, you see different menu options than when the Clinical Notes module is open. The More menu also displays options for logging out and syncing, as well as access to help, settings and the Provider Directory. The Home Menu button displays the list of modules (such as Lab Results, Test Results, etc.) on the Home screen. If you are already viewing a module for a patient and want to switch to a different one, select the Home button and choose the module you want. If you go back to the module where you started from, the application “remembers” the specific screen you were on and shows it again. For example, if you were in the Lab Results module looking at the details for a CBC, and then you switched to Test Results, and then back again to Lab Results, the detail screen for the same CBC would be shown again. The Back button returns to the previous screen. If you are looking at the Detail screen for a module (like displaying a component of a panel in Lab Results), the Back button takes you back to the Summary list for that module. If you are looking at the Patient List, the Back button takes you back to the last module you were viewing. The Patient List button displays the Patients screen and is accessible in the top-right corner when viewing the Home screen and when viewing a module Summary screen or Detail screen. The Messaging button is visible only if your organization has implemented Commure Pro Messaging, and it is enabled in your user profile. Use this option to send and receive text messages from other providers. Messages can include photos and links to patients. A red badge with a number may overlay the icon; this badge indicates the number of unread messages. See Sending Commure Pro Messages for more information.

Selecting or Changing Patients

You have access to the patient list from any module. When the Patient List is open, you see the location and name of every patient who is currently in your care. To select a patient, tap the patient’s name. The selected patient is highlighted in blue. If you have a clinical module open (like Clinical Notes or Lab Results), you can easily select a different patient while remaining in that same module:

• On a handheld device/tablet in portrait mode: tap the Patient List button located near the top of the screen. When the Patient List module is displayed, select another patient from the list. The same clinical module now appears again, displaying the results for the new patient you just selected.
• On a tablet in landscape mode: the Patient List is always displayed on the left side of the screen—just select a different patient from the list.

Searching for and Adding Patients

You can search across more than your loaded patients directly from the Patient List. A search bar at the top of the list filters your loaded patients by name or MRN in real time, with matches highlighted as you type.

• Patients who are not yet on your list appear in an Other Matches section below your loaded patients.
• To add an existing visit, select its checkbox in Other Matches — you can do this without leaving the screen.
• The add-patient button steps out of the way as you scroll, so visit checkboxes are never blocked.

Results stay selectable after you clear and retype, and a clear message appears if a search cannot be completed.
