- While viewing the master assignment list, you can assign patients to any of the sublists. The user interface differs slightly between the phone and tablet devices, although the end result is the same.
- While viewing a sublist (either a named sublist such as “ER Gold Team” or the Unassigned sublist), you can reassign one or more patients from one sublist to a different sublist. For example, you might reassign a patient from the “ER Gold Team” to the “ER Sliver Team,” from the Unassigned sublist to the “ER Gold Team,” or from the “ER Gold Team” back to the Unassigned sublist.
Assigning Patients from the Master Assignment List on Android Tablet Devices
Assigning patients from the master assignment list to a sublist on an Android tablet device is done in the Master Assignment screen. On this screen you can choose as many patients as needed to distribute them among the available sublists. The Master Assignment screen appears in landscape mode only.
- In the Patient List module, select the master assignment list. See Switching Patient Lists for instructions on how to select a patient list.
-
Tap and hold a patient name until the action buttons appear at the top of the screen, then select the Assign Patients button
The Master Assignment screen is displayed. Note that the Master Assignment screen displays in landscape mode only, so if you are viewing in portrait mode you should rotate your device.
- In the Assignment List field, the master assignment list that you selected in Step 1 is selected by default. However, you can switch to a different master assignment list if necessary. In the Lists to Display box, the master assignment list and all of the sublists, including the Unassigned sublist, are shown. Each sublist has a checkbox and also a number after it, indicating the number of patients currently on that sublist.
- Check the box next to each of sublists that you want to move patients to and from. For example, if you want to move patients from the Unassigned sublist to the “ER Gold Team” you would check the box next to those two items. Or, you can check all of the boxes to work with all of the sublists at once. For each sublist that you select, a column is displayed on the screen. Each column shows the name and location of all of the patients that are currently on that sublist. Please note that if a particular list is too long to fit on the screen, you can scroll up and down, or you can use the Page Up and Page Down arrows located at the top of each sublist, so that you can see the rest of the patients on that sublist.

- Select one or more patients by tapping on their row(s) or using the Select All button (the rows are then highlighted in orange). Drag the selected patient(s) from one sublist, and drop them onto another sublist. Once a patient is moved to a different sublist, they are highlighted in green, so that you can clearly see the changes that you have made so far. If you make a mistake, simply drag the patient back to their original list.
- Tap the Back button when you are finished distributing the patients among the sublists.
