Enhancements

Item
ANDROID-2800 When modifying a medication order, the order now carries forward the remaining number of doses or bags and days or hours.
Setting Change: No
Min. Server Req’d: 9.2.0.2.37
This enhancement affects existing medication orders that have a value in the # of Doses or # of Bags and # of Days or # of Hours fields. If an existing order of this type is modified, then the # of Doses field (or # of Bags field) and # of Days (or # of Hours field) are updated to the field names Remaining # of Doses (or Remaining # of Bags) and Remaining # of Days (or Remaining # of Hours). In addition, the value in those fields are prepopulated with the remaining number of doses or bags, which is calculated by subtracting the number of MAR events from the original number of doses on the order. Since there could be zero or more MAR events, the resulting calculated value could be the same as the original value, a lesser amount, or none remaining. This issue affects both orders from the source system, and orders entered in Commure Pro that have not yet made the round trip to the source system.
Item
ANDROID-2898 Do not jump to first required field in Hold workflow.
Setting Change: No
Min. Server Req’d: 8.2.1.6
When a provider taps the Hold button to put a medication order on Hold, the screen no longer jumps to the first required field. Instead the user can manually tap into the first field that they wish to complete (Hold Reason, Hold Date/Time, or Resume Date/Time). This prevents the fields from being presented out of order and possibly confusing the provider. (For example, in prior releases, if the Resume Date/Time field were configured to be required, then after tapping the Hold button, the screen immediately displayed the date/time picker for the Resume Date/Time field, before the provider had even indicated the Hold Reason or the Hold Date/Time.)
Item
ANDROID-2903 A new CDS alert for dose range checking is available.
Setting Change: Yes
Min. Server Req’d: 9.2.0.2.37
When enabled by your organization, new Dose Range Checking alerts display information pertaining to the dosing of the medication, such as information about the maximum single or daily dosage, or whether renal function should be considered. Factors such as the patient’s age or weight are taken into consideration when appropriate. Dose Range Checking alerts can be configured to display as informational messages only, or as informational messages with an override reason. These alerts display on the Order Details screen. The user then has the following options:● Change the dose, route, or frequency so that the dose falls within the recommended guidelines, and then submit the order.● If not configured to show an override reason: submit the order as is.● If configured to show an override reason: select an override reason and then submit the order as is.Administrators can configure dose range checking for all drug orders or specific drug orders using Admin > Facility Group > CPOE Utilities > Interaction Checking > Drug-Dose Display.● When this setting is set to Enabled (Always), then every medication order that returns a dose range check message will show either a message-only or message-with-override alert. The type of alert that displays depends on whether the specific medication order definition’s Admin > Facility Group > Order Definitions > Require Dose Checking Override setting is disabled (message-only) or enabled (message-with-override).● When this setting is set to Enabled (Specific Order Defs Only), then only those medication order definitions that have Admin > Facility Group > Order Definitions > Require Dose Checking Override enabled will show a message-with-override alert. All other drug orders will not show a dose range alert.
